Hi mate,
I actually have 12 L14 rods now. I might not use them after all but they are currently in storage. Did you find any in the end? I would have thought ZA would be a good place to find them, but an Ebayer called Tokyo2u (or similar) sells parts from Japan and might be able to find some for you. I got 4 from him not that long ago (about 1 year). If you're still stuck let me know.

The L28 connecting rods are 130mm while the L24 are 133mm, so why would he want L26/L28 connecting rods which are shorter than the L24 or L14, defeats the purpose of what he's saying....

Thanks for the nice comments! I did my best; bear in mind that the book was written between 1984 and '88, though publishers monkey business prevented it from being printed until 1991. In print constantly for twenty years now!
I had to sell my #3547 in 1999, but Nissan bought it back for a display car; heard from Pete Brock that they'd sold it a few years back -- bummer. I'm building a '71 for myself now, but not stock! I also have two NL320 pickups, both '65, one a barn find and one a project -- though it is factory black, a very rare option.
I was restoration editor for Z Car Magazine until it folded some seasons back. Happy Z Trails!

Does an L20a crankshaft fit in a L28 block? whats rods will need for a close deck clearance. I ant to build a roughly 2.5 liter 10,000 rpm low compression engine for Bonneville.
