Datsun 240z Model Car with SR20DET Engine Swap.
When trying to save money for an overseas holiday, should you A.) Save money, B.) Save Money or C.) Spend Money on Ebay!!!. Not sure? Well I decided I needed someting, it’s called inspiration and it comes in the scale 1/24. If you have no idea what I’m on about i’m referring to a model car. Not just any model car though a nice looking 240z.
Usually when you go to a Hobbie Store (toy store for big boys), you get your usual Holden’s / Ford’s / Mustangs and Camaro’s and so fourth so finding a model of a Zcar is sometimes difficult. Finding a decent one though can be even harder as most companies like to give them the original hubcaps and so forth.
So in all it’s glory here it is my new 240z. Yes I know I should be working on my actual car and not toying around, but I just couldn’t help myself. Oh and the logitech G25 steering wheel on my desk, that’s what happens when I can’t help myself on other occassions. *Aghhh Sigh** one day I’ll actually have my Z looking this good. For now though I can at least dream

Its funny Gav, just a week ago I bought exactly the same car, and its a pretty good model, I onlypaid $29 for it too. In fact I got the idea of painting a black patch to match the rear panel where the model has the two exhausts coming out, and then somehow cover it with silve mesh to give the same effect with cutting any steel, that will be part of my resto.

Hi Len,
Yes its not a bad model. It would have been nice if it didn’t have an SR20DET and dual exhausts as that’s not really my style, but considering the price I think its quite solid and nice looking.
Not a bad idea to experiment on a model before doing it to your actual car.
