Update on my Zcar Progress.

It has been a while since I posted here, and I figured it was time to give an update. I haven’t done a whole lot of work on the car recently other than general maintenance. I managed to get some parts back that were at a mechanics workshop for some time. They had my LD28 crankshaft, couple of engine blocks, electronic distributor and other bits and pieces.

I’m looking forward to getting my engine block sorted out. I’m going to give it a good clean out and prepare it for an overbore. I’m still not 100% sure what prep work I’ll do to the crank, but I will probably give the block all new welsh plugs, debur the block which helps reduce the chance of the block cracking at high rpm and stops the casting from breaking off into the oil, which is obviously no good.

I have been speaking with Eiji at www.datsunspirit.com and he’s built a mean L28 which produces 350HP! Some tips and information he’s past on have caused me to reconsider my camshaft profile amongst other stuff.

I’ve also had a guest stay with me recently who brought down some Nostalgic Hero magazines. For those who don’t know these magazines are in Japanese and feature all kinds of classic Japanese cars. Alot of old Nissan’s mainly including some cool models such as the C110 and C10 of course there are plenty of Zcars. It’s been great flicking through the pictures which have given me some great ideas on different looks I can apply to my 240z. I’m really into the old S30 Zcar race cars they have a certain aura about them.

That’s about it for now stay tuned!
